シャシャンク・チャトプラム

Shashank Chathapuram Sensei was introduced to martial arts when he was 4 years old, when he had the opportunity to try Tae Kwon Do in 2010. However, Shashank did not enjoy this training. In 2011, he saw his dad, Rajesh Chathapuram Sensei, get his Shodan (1st degree) in Shorin Ryu and Shudokan karate through the Okinawan Karate Club of Dallas. It was at that moment he knew that he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps. This led to him joining Okinawan Karate Club of Lantana and training under Sensei Wayne Murphy as well as his father Sensei Rajesh Chathapuram. During these past 15 years, Shashank Sensei has had the opportunity to work with various other Sensei within the Okinawan Karate family as well. Shashank was awarded his (1st Dan) in January 2022 and currently holds the rank of Nidan (2nd degree black belt) in both Shorin Ryu and Shudokan Karate.
